Family Picture Day

So we had family pictures yesterday. That morning Danny went coyote hunting, I went to work, and the kids went to school. I left work early and checked out the kids from school so we could get ready. Well you know that we can never do anything (never go anywhere) because Danny's job interferes. Well you guessed it he had a death, two hours before pictures. He was scrambling to get things done and then he ran home to get ready, he had 15 minutes. He didn't bother trying on his shirt I had bought him the night before, and guess what it was too tight. This is why men should try things on when thier wife buys them something, instead of looking at it and saying "oh that looks ok." So anyways, he wore the shirt but he was afraid he was going to rip it the whole time (it was an X-large, I have never bought him a shirt larger than an X-Large, but I guess we are getting older and with age comes weight). He told the kids that they better make these pictures the best they have ever taken because we were never getting them again. I think his shirt was the icing on the cake, after the death.
Once pictures were done he had cooled off. Brooke did a great job, I love her. So maybe I can get him to get more pictures in a few years, I will just have to buy him a bigger shirt. I will send everyone a family picture when she gets them done, but only if you call Danny and tell him you really like his shirt.

Cambria, Ryan, Taeg, Tripp and Brigg said...: That's way funny:)! Brooke is awesome, I can't wait to see 'em. Danny's job being so unscheduled and demanding has gotta be rough. You'll love Twilight. Ryan and I went to Atlanta this summer w/o the kids and I read the first 3 while i was there. Here is a poem that was sent to me from a friend at work. It really makes you stop and think about what is important in life.

FAMILY
I ran into a stranger as he passed by, "Oh excuse me please" was my reply.He said, "Please excuse me too; I wasn't watching for you."We were very polite, this stranger and I. We went on our way and we said goodbye.But at home a different story is told, How we treat our loved ones, young and old. Later that day, cooking the evening meal, My son stood beside me very still. When I turned, I nearly knocked him down. "Move out of the way," I said with a frown. He walked away, his little heart broken. I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.While I lay awake in bed, God's still small voice came to me and said, " While dealing with a stranger, common courtesy you use, but the family you love, you seem to abuse. Go and look on the kitchen floor, You'll find some flowers there by the door. Those are the flowers he brought for you. He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue. He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise, you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes."By this time, I felt very small, And now my tears began to fall. I quietly went and knelt by his bed; "Wake up, little one, wake up," I said. "Are these the flowers you picked for me?" He smiled, "I found 'em, out by the tree. I picked 'em because they're pretty like you. I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue." I said, "Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today; I shouldn't have yelled at you that way." He said, "Oh, Mom, that's okay. I love you anyway." I said, "Son, I love you too, and I do like the flowers, especially the blue."FAMILY Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than into our own family, an unwise investment indeed, don't you think?
